Sky Sports have launched a new 15-minute highlights programme for the Betfred Women’s Super League, to be shown every Monday at 8.45pm.

The first featured match will show Wigan’s 52-8 opening round victory over Warrington, which was streamed live on Twitch to more than 300,000 unique viewers, including 46,000 in the UK.

The highlights will be shown on Sky Sports Arena and Mix, with the mid-season international between England and Wales as well as the Women’s Super League Grand Final to be shown live on Sky Sports too.

Mark Foster, the RFL’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “This is more great news as we celebrate the return of the Betfred Women’s Super League after such a long absence.

“We’re delighted to be working this season with Neville Smith, formerly the Rugby League Executive Producer on Sky Sports, through his new company In Touch Productions – both in our live BWSL coverage on Twitch, full match replays on Our League, and now with highlights on Sky.

“We are determined to provide the best possible platform for the outstanding athletes of the Betfred Women’s Super League, especially as they prepare for a home World Cup this autumn.”

The live match on Twitch this weekend will also include Warrington, against Huddersfield in the Challenge Cup, and the following week Leeds will take on Featherstone in front of the TV cameras.
