London Skolars have announced the signing of Ghanaian international winger Reece Rance for the 2022 season.

Rance has been playing for Coventry since 2018 after signing from Gloucestershire All Golds. He has also represented Hemel Stags in League One.

The Northampton-born winger captained Ghana in the 2019 Middle Eastern Championships. They lost their first match against Nigeria, but beat Cameroon in their second game.

Rance could make his debut for the club this weekend, as the Skolars take on Hunslet Club Parkside in the third round of the Challenge Cup.

Reacting to the news, Rance told the club website: “I’m excited for this new challenge and can’t wait to get stuck in at Skolars this season.

“I played some of my best rugby last year, got some big wins and ran all teams close from start to finish. I’m aiming to bring knowledge and experience from these types of games into this squad.

“The move to London was made easier through the connections I have here and the conversations I have had with past and present players, who have spoken highly of the club’s ambitions and vision.”

Head Coach Joe Mbu added: “Reece is another excellent addition to the squad. He is a powerful runner who has invaluable League 1 experience.

“I have admired his performances over recent seasons and look forward to working with him”

London Skolars find out Challenge Cup opponents

Once again, London Skolars have found themselves drawn against amateur opposition in the Challenge Cup.

Having beaten fellow London side the Chargers, they will now face NCL side Hunslet Club Parkside this weekend.

Should they get past the south Leeds side, they will welcome Championship side Sheffield to the capital with a place in the Fifth Round up for grabs.
