Six to face disciplinary committee

Six players will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday to answer charges brought following incidents in their teams’ Engage Super League Round 20 fixtures.

Leeds Rhinos scrum half Rob Burrow has been charged with the Grade B offence of making dangerous contact with Wigan Warriors forward Ryan Hoffman in the 58th minute of their contest at the DW Stadium on Friday. Burrow is charged with using his body to forcefully twist, bend or apply pressure to the limb or limbs of an opposing player in a way that involves an unacceptable risk of injury to that player.

Wigan Warriors prop Andy Coley has been charged with a Grade A running in and punching incident from the 80th minute of the same contest.

Castleford Tigers forward Jake Emmitt and Warrington Wolves player Michael Cooper have both been charged with Grade A offences for fighting during the 54th minute of Warrington’s 48-18 victory at the PROBIZ Coliseum on Friday.

Catalan Dragons prop David Ferriol has been charged with a Grade C offence for a reckless challenge during his side’s clash with Bradford Bulls on Saturday. Ferriol is charged with making contact with the head or neck of his opponent during their 34-28 win over the Bulls.

Crusaders second row Hep Cahill has been charged with a Grade B offence for making a late challenge on Huddersfield Giants player Kevin Brown in the 80th minute of Sunday’s 40-12 defeat for the French side.

The Match Review Panel also issued formal cautions to the following players:

Brent Webb (Leeds Rhinos) – Putting hand across face of Wigan WarriorsChris Tuson in the 48th minute.

Jason Chan (Crusaders) – High tackle on Huddersfield Giants Joe Wardle in the 15th minute

Jason Chan (Crusaders) – Dangerous contact on Huddersfield Giants Eorl Crabtree in the 41st minute

Julien Rinaldi (Wakefield) – Dangerous contact on Hull KR’s Rhys Lovegrove in the 42nd minute

The cautions will remain on the players’ record and could be considered in the event of future disciplinary breaches.
