Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield will miss Friday’s clash against Harlequins after picking up an injury in the World Club Challenge defeat on Sunday.

Sinfield limped out of the Rhinos’ 18-10 loss against Meloburne Storm with a thigh injury.

Leeds’ Head of Physiotherapy Services Meirion Jones said: “Kevin Sinfield had a severe impact to the front of the thigh. We will monitor his progress but he will not be available this week and will require further assessment after the weekend ahead of our next game.”

He joins winger Scott Donald on the sidelines.

Jones added: “Scott Donald underwent a shoulder reconstruction operation on Monday morning which we are pleased to say went well. The same prognosis remains in place from previous announcements with a 12 week recovery necessary.”
