Sinfield anticipates Salford return

Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield believes Leeds’ Challenge Cup trip back to Salford will be challenging for the Rhinos.

Leeds defeated Salford 56-16 in March this year, the day Sinfield smashed the Rhinos’ point scoring record.

Sinfield said: “It will be tough going there. We played really well there earlier in the season but this is the cup and they will want to write some history at their new home.

“We are pleased to have Super League opposition as it is what we are used to and we know that our standards will have to be high as normal to get through to the Quarter Final.”

Salford will be Leeds’ 10th consecutive Super League opponents in Challenge Cup games since 2010. Their last semi professional opponent was hosting Blackpool at Headingley when the Rhinos won 70-22.
