Warrington Wolves have confirmed that Ashton Sims will be staying at the club until the end of the 2017 season, with the prop having signed a contract extension.

Joe Philbin and Gary Wheeler are also confirmed for 2016 after having their playing options for next season taken up by the club.

Wire coach Tony Smith is pleased that Sims is staying put.

“He’s an inspirational leader and has proved to be an integral part of the team both on and off the field,” he said.

“Ashton has shown a real passion for Warrington and it’s great that he’s focused on this team and our success right though to 2017.”
