Silverwood to referee Super League Grand Final

Richard Silverwood has been appointed as referee for the 2013 Super League Grand final between Warrington and Wigan at Old Trafford on Saturday (6.00pm).

Silverwood, 37, will be taking charge of his second successive Grand Final, after refereeing last year’s event which saw Leeds defeat Warrington 26-18.

He was also in charge for the 2012 Challenge Cup final at Wembley between the same sides.

Silverwood will be joined by touch-judges Robert Hicks and James Child, whilst Ben Thaler will be video referee.

The Match Commissioner will be Peter Taberner whilst the reserve referee is Phil Bentham and the reserve touch-judge Clint Sharrad.
