Gold Coast prop David Shillington has been linked with a move to Wakefield next season.

Love Rugby League understands Shillington has been offered to Trinity for 2017. The 33-year old front-rower is contracted to the Titans for next season but the NRL side are desperate to free up salary cap space.

Wakefield’s Australian prop Scott Anderson is retiring at the end of this season.

Shillington only played seven games for Gold Coast this year and spent a large part of this year out with a pectoral tear.

He has made 211 career appearances in the NRL with the Roosters, Raiders and Titans since 2005.

Shillington has also played 14 tests for Australia and eight times for Queensland.

The Brisbane-born forward represented the NRL All Stars in 2010 and has played for the Prime Minister’s XIII on four occasions.
