Sheffield Eagles prop Steve Thorpe has broken his cheekbone and will be out for action for the next eight to 10 weeks.

According to reports, Thorpe suffered the injury in Friday night’s loss to Bradford.

The Australian front-rower could miss up to 10 games.

Last week Thorpe was named as Sheffield’s new captain. He joined the Eagles at the end of 2014 from the Queensland Cup.
