Sheffield confirm Brown exit

Former Championship winning half-back Simon Brown has left Sheffield Eagles by mutual consent.

Brown, 28, helped lead Sheffield to Championship Grand Final success in 2012 before leaving to join York.

He went on to play for Batley and Halifax and then spent a couple of seasons at Hunslet, before returning to Sheffield ahead of the 2017 season.

A club statement said: “Sheffield Eagles can confirm that Simon Brown has left the club by mutual consent.

“The club would like to wish Simon all the best in his future career.”

Brown scored 158 points in 26 appearances for the club in 2017.
