Sheffield Eagles are the current holders of the 1895 Cup

Sheffield centre James Glover has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 26-year-old has been out of action since suffering an injury at last year’s Summer Bash, but he has committed to the Eagles for 2021.

Sheffield coach Mark Aston said: “I saw enough from James before he got his injury to know he’s got class and potential.

“He is a great character and that is something which we miss within the game nowadays.

“He is honourable and wants to show the Sheffield fans he is a class act.

“I have no qualms with him coming back. It may take him a week or two to get back to where he was but he will.

“He epitomises what we want in a player.”
