Sheffield have announced that 10 players will leave the club at the end of the season.

Ryan Millar, James Glover, Aaron Brown, Oliver Davies, Brad Knowles, Frankie Mariano, Bobby Tyson-Wilson, Max Clarke, Robbie Ward and Chris Ball will depart the Eagles at the season’s end.

A Sheffield statement read: “The club would like to thank them for their efforts and wish them well in their future careers.

“Further announcements relating to the 2022 squad will be made in the coming days and months.”

Sheffield captain Matt James, prop Scott Wheeldon and winger Rob Worrincy have also announced their retirements in recent weeks.

Worrincy said: “It was a really, really tough decision.

“Playing any sport in general is enjoyable but doing it professionally is something to be truly grateful of.

“I’ve enjoyed my playing career and it’s been in the back of my mind for the last couple of years that I’m coming to the backend of it.

“For one reason or another I’ve managed to talk myself out of it but now I think the time is right. With the way things have turned out, finding myself back at the Eagles, it feels like a fitting time to call it the end.”

Wheeldon said: “I’ve been thinking about it from the start of this season. I knew before the season started that it’ll probably be my last year to be honest.”

James said: “I can leave with my head held high. I’ve tried to give my all for the club since I signed. We have had ups and downs, I’ve had ups and downs, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.”
