Sheens confirms Thornley will sign for Hull KR

Wigan threequarter Iain Thornley will be joining Hull KR in 2016, according to Salford director of rugby Tim Sheens.

Thornley is currently on loan at Salford until the end of the current campaign, as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury sustained in 2014.

“He has come across to spend some time with us, and we will work hard to give him some games to remember and hopefully boost his confidence before he goes to Hull KR next season,” said Sheens, according to the Wigan Evening Post.

“Iain’s size and ability in the centre will do us a lot of good.”
