Shaun Kenny-Dowall relishing his first Hull derby

Drew Darbyshire

Hull KR’s new recruit Shaun Kenny-Dowall can’t wait to play in his first Hull derby.

The Robins make the short journey to the KCOM Stadium to face old rivals Hull FC on Friday night.

Kenny-Dowall was made aware of the rivalry long before pulling on a red and white jersey.

He said: “Since I’ve been here, I’ve been told a lot about the history of the two clubs and how much it means to the fans.

“It’s why you play rugby league, to be a part of the big occasions. And on the rugby league calendar, there’s not too many bigger than the Hull derby.

“It’s great to see the passion of the Rovers fans, they really show up in their numbers and are a very vocal bunch.

“The game of rugby league means a lot to them and I feel very privileged to play in such an occasion.”
