Shaun Johnson: I’m at Cronulla to win an NRL Premiership

Shaun Johnson says he wants to win an NRL Premiership while with Cronulla Sharks.

The New Zealand international joined the Sharks on a three-year deal from New Zealand Warriors earlier this week.

Johnson has only ever played for the Warriors, playing 162 games for the club, but will move to the Sharks ahead of 2019.

And he insists he wants to win a Premiership while with the Sharks.

Johnson said: “I think that would be the most important thing to any player playing this game, that’s why you do it.

“There are 15 teams out there with the exact same goal. That’s all of our mindset and that’s why I believe this is the greatest competition in the world.

“If it was all about the money I would have stayed there [at the Warriors]. I would have stayed and played my contract out. I’m here to win a Premiership.

“I know I can add value. I believe in myself, it doesn’t matter what they’re paying me.”
