Sharp seeks Rovers response

Featherstone Rovers coach Jon Sharp has admitted that he was bitterly disappointed by his team’s defeat at home to Rochdale Hornets.

Fev lost 10-9 after a tough encounter played in dreadful weather conditions, Rovers’ first league defeat in nearly a year.

“I was bitterly disappointed by the result, but more so the performance – we weren’t at the races,” said Sharp.

“It was a hurtful result for us. We had too many players having off days all at once and you cannot afford for that to happen.

“This game is about building pressure and being patient. We created plenty of opportunities but failed to make the most of them.

“The conditions were terrible and it certainly affected the way we wanted to play the game.

“Rochdale handled them better than us and probably got the result they deserved.”
