Doncaster full-back Dave Scott and York City Knights scrum-half Jonny Presley are the Kingstone Press Championships Players of the Week.

Scott scored the first try in Doncaster’s 22-16 victory over Featherstone Rovers, helping his side climb to second place in the Kingstone Press Championship table.

Presley collected four tries in York’s 76-0 triumph against South Wales Scorpions.

Every week each coach in both Kingstone Press Championship competitions is contacted to help put the awards together.

Kingstone Press Championship Player of the Week – Dave Scott (Doncaster)

Doncaster full-back Dave Scott came back to haunt his former club Featherstone Rovers with a man of the match performance in his side’s 22-16 win.

Doncaster coach Paul Cooke said: “Dave scored a good try, came up with some really good catches on the full and was very good all game.

“He’s a quality player. In many people’s eyes he may have taken a sideways step by coming here from Featherstone, but it shows what can happen with the opportunity to play regular first team football.

“Being against Featherstone will make it even more special for Dave. When you play against your old club you can go out there with that bit more to prove and desire to do well.

“It was a great performance from him, and all 16 of the other lads put in a shift as well.”

Kingstone Press Championship One Player of the Week – Jonny Presley (York)

York City Knights scrum-half Jonny Presley earned praise from coach Gary Thornton after a four-try haul against South Wales Scorpions.

Thornton said: “Jonny was very good and has been all season. He was on hand to finish four tries himself, but he also created quite a few others as well. I was delighted with his performance.

“We’ve got three very good pivots this year in Jonny, Pat Smith and Benn Hardcastle, and we’ve some real selection headaches there.

“But Jonny is one of our most experienced players in a very young team, and it’s great to see him setting such a good example for the younger guys.”

Kingstone Press Try of the Week – Callum Phillips (Workington)

Workington Town scrum half Callum Phillips produced a moment of magic in the first half of his side’s exciting 22-24 defeat to Keighley Cougars.

Town coach Phil Veivers said: “We went down the short side and Connor Farrell put a face pass out to Kaye Connor down the wing.

“His inside pass went behind Carl Forber, Callum Phillips picked it up and scooted across field.

“He had Jason Mossop on his outside but dummied and scythed between the winger and centre to dive over in the corner.”
