Whitehaven have given Scotland international Brett Phillips a new one-year contract.

The 31-year-old scored 4 tries in 17 appearances for Whitehaven last season after having a year out of the game in 2018. He has earned seven caps for Scotland.

Whitehaven coach Gary Charlton said: “Brett is a great signing for us.

“He’s a good player that has experience playing in the Championship and at the highest level with Scotland. I’m really pleased to see him sign for another season with us.”

Phillips added: “I’m excited for another year.

I enjoyed last season and hopefully we can kick in again next year and enjoy our rugby. I’m looking forward to getting back into the routine and playing rugby again.”
