Schofield backs St Helens to go unbeaten

Former Great Britain stand-off Garry Schofield thinks that St Helens may make it through the first part of the Super League season unbeaten.

The competition splits after 23 rounds, and Schofield would not put it past Saints to make it through to that point with a perfect win/loss record.

“Looking at what Saints still have on the sidelines you could not rule then out of going the first 23 games unbeaten,” the former Leeds and Hull FC star told Radio Yorkshire’s ‘The Last Tackle’ programme.

“They haven’t even at their best at times but they still find a way to win.”

Schofield is pretty certain as to who his top three teams will be when the split comes, but believes that the fourth place will be very much up for grabs.

“Saints, Leeds and Warrington are certainties for the top four,” he said.

“But who comes fourth is anyone’s guess.”
