Sarginson more than ready to be Wigan’s full-back

Wigan centre Dan Sarginson has asserted that he is happy to play at full-back for the Warriors while Sam Tomkins is injured.

Tomkins, who has returned to the club from NRL outfit New Zealand Warriors for 2016, is out of action with a knee injury until around Easter time.

With Lewis Tierney also in the reckoning for the number 1 spot, Sarginson is happy to play wherever coach Shaun Wane needs him.

“I love playing at full-back. I played stand-off, centre and full-back at London,” he told Wigantoday.net.

“When I moved to centre when I came to Wigan , I was unsure because I wanted to play full-back – and I still had stand-off in my mind too.

“But I’ve come to terms with the fact I’m not a No.6 now! When I do play full-back I really enjoy it, I love the open spaces.”
