Sandow named Player of March

Warrington Wolves halfback Chris Sandow has been named First Utility Super League Player of the Month award for March, after also receiving the award in February.

Making history, Sandow is the first player to pick up this award twice let  alone in consecutive months.

February’s First Utility Super League Player of the Month continued his fine form into the month of March, a last second drop-goal to earn his side a victory over Salford stands out in a month full of highlight plays for the Australian.

His first full season in Super League and Sandow looks to be one of the most astute signings in recent years and could play a crucial role if Warrington are to finish this season with silverware.

“I’m delighted to pick up this award, it means a lot to have the backing of the supporters and the judging panel,” Sandow said.

“It was a shortlist stacked with talent so I’d like to say a special thank you to all the fans who voted for me. To win it twice, back-to-back, is something I really am proud of.

“We’ve made a good start to the season, and while there is always room for improvement as a team and an individual, this award proves that I’m surrounded by a strong group of lads who help each other play their hardest, week in, week out.”
