Chris Sandow has been fined but escaped conviction over his brawl in his hometown.

Sandow was filmed in a street fight in Cherbourg, Queensland, on New Year’s Day.

He was fined $300 after pleading guilty to a public nuisance charge.

Sandow avoided a conviction after he agreed to the magistrate’s request that he become a community spokesman for conflict resolution in Cherbourg.

The halfback walked out on his contract with Warrington late last year.
