Sam Tagataese has agreed a new one-year contract with Brisbane.

The 31-year-old made four appearances with the Broncos in his first year with the club after joining from Cronulla Sharks.

Tagataese was 18thman several times and he found chances limited, but his reliability and experience convinced Brisbane to offer him a new deal.

On his new deal, the Samoa international commented: “Season 2018 wasn’t what I wanted to be.

“I’ve been given the opportunity again so I am really grateful for that. I can’t leave knowing I didn’t put everything in.

“Even though I have been in the game for a long time, 2018 was a learning stage for me. Coming into the Broncos really opened my eyes a lot about myself.

“Coming into the Broncos really opened my eyes a lot more – just to challenge myself and see where that can take me.”

Tagataese has earned five caps for Samoa.
