Newcastle have re-signed Samoa international Matthew Wright for the 2020 League 1 season.

The 29-year-old joined Thunder towards the end of last season, scoring eight tries and 12 goals in six appearances. He has earned five caps for Samoa.

Wright said: “I’m delighted to welcome Matty back into the squad.

“He was a terrific addition to our group both on and off the field last season and I am looking forward to seeing him get stuck in with the boys again.”

Wright will be in contention to play in Newcastle’s first League 1 home game against Workington on Sunday, March 8.
