Catalans have handed half-back Samisoni Langi a new two-year deal.

The 26-year-old will remain at the Stade Gilbert Brutus until the end of the 2021 campaign.

Langi – who has earned seven caps for Tonga – has scored six tries in 40 games since arriving at the Dragons from Leigh ahead of last season. He helped Catalans win the Challenge Cup last year.

Catalans coach Steve McNamara commented: “We are happy that Sami has agreed to extend his time at the Dragons.

“His professional attitude and approach is a great example for all.”

Langi added: “I am really happy to have extended my stay here at the Catalans Dragons for the next two seasons.

“This is home for me and my family and we are very grateful for the opportunity.

“I want to thank the fans and sponsors of this club for their support and I look forward to continue representing this great region with pride every time I put the Catalans jersey on.”
