Halifax have secured the services of utility back Sam Wood on loan for the remainder of the season.

Wood, 21, advanced through the Huddersfield Giants scholarship programme before eventually making his first team debut in 2016.

Wood went on to make six Super League appearances, scoring a single try and four goals.

Having spent time on loan at Workington Town and racking up 20 Giants appearances – Wood will look to gain important game time at Halifax for the remainder of the year.

Giants managing director Richard Thewlis commented on the deal: “Having spent a valuable period of time out on loan with Workington Town in recent weeks, where he has put in a series of productive performances, we feel that the loan move to Halifax will be greatly beneficial to Sam’s development”.
