Doncaster have signed centre Sam Smeaton on a two-year contract from Batley, while forward Brad Foster has extended his time at the club.

Smeaton, 30, made 25 appearances in the Championship for the Bulldogs last season and will return to his hometown club in 2020.

Doncaster head coach Richard Horne said: “Sam is a very experienced Championship player and is very strong and aggressive in the way he plays.

“His experience and knowledge of the game can help us move forward both in training and also during games.”

Foster has also signed a new two-year deal with the Dons and he will remain at the Keepmoat Stadium until the end of 2021.

Horne added: “Brad was one of our most consistent players last season which earned him the club’s Man of Steel award.

“He does the little things in games which can sometimes go unnoticed, and I am really pleased to have him on board as we continue to build our squad for 2020.”
