Sam Brooks extends Leigh stay

Leigh have retained the services of prop Sam Brooks for 2020.

The 26-year-old joined the Centurions ahead of last season from Featherstone, making 23 appearances for the club.

Leigh coach John Duffy said: “Brooksy was really consistent for us through the season.

“I’ve known him a long time having worked with him at Featherstone but he missed a few games at the back end of the season.

“He knows where he needs to get better and I’m sure he will. It’s important he starts to become accountable for his performances and become a leader and I know he will.

“He has got a great pair of hands for a prop forward and I think we will be able to utilise that a lot more next season.”
