Salford forward Adam Lawton has joined Swinton on an initial one-month loan.

Lawton, 25, made his professional debut for Widnes in 2014 before moving Down Under and returned to the game with a deal at the Red Devils.

He has featured three times for Rochdale this season, scoring three tries, as well as three appearances for Salford.

Coach Stuart Littler said: “It’s awesome to be able to add a bit more size to out pack.

“Since the unfortunate injury to Jamie Acton, it has been identified as a position where we required another number. Ahead of Easter, a lot of channels were blocked due to the schedule, but now we are through the other side of it and we are in a position to add Adam on loan.

“Adam will add size and will also increase competition for places in our close knit squad. We have some big games around the corner and need to go into these in the best possible way.”

Lawton could make his Swinton debut against former club Widnes in the Championship on Sunday.
