Salford have romped to an impressive 16-point victory against last year’s grand finalists Wigan.

Mark Flanagan opened the scoring after just seven minutes. Then Josh Griffin scored in the left corner to give the Red Devils a 12-0 lead.

With four minutes left in the half Michael Dobson stretched out for Salford’s third try. Robert Lui then glided over to give the home team a commanding 22-0 lead at the break.

After just four minutes in the second half Salford were in again, Ryan Lannon with an amazing try.

In the 49th minute Greg Johnson touched down in the left corner.

Wigan kept making mistakes and rarely threatened the Red Devils’ defence.

But the Warriors finally got on the scoreboard when Dominic Manfredi crossed in the right hand corner. Sam Powell could not convert the try.

The tide started to turn as Oliver Goldart then added Wigan’s second, which took the score to 32-10.

With three minutes left Tony Clubb also crossed for the Warriors, taking the final score to 32-16.
