Salford want the cream of rugby league

Salford football director Graham Lowe is keen to add the cream of rugby league to the side.

Recently appointed by new owner Dr Marwan Koukash, the former Wigan coach has seen the club linked with moves for reigning Man of Steel Sam Tomkins, veteran Adrian Morley and Castleford star Rangi Chase.

Lowe, 66, told BBC Radio Manchester about the clubs ambition: “Any club would actively be looking to recruit good players if they can. We’re no different. I want to play some part, for our fans, in making sure we deliver the best possible players that are playing the game, wherever that may be.”

Keen to secure a marquee signing to signal their intent, Lowe shares the new owners view for the club.

“I have a vision that’s shared by Marwan. We’ve got to protect Salford’s history, but we’ve also got to life our own expectations and be a club that’s actively trying to recruit the very best players we can possibly get.”

Fresh from their first win of the season against Hull KR the Salford City Reds host London Broncos on Friday looking to make it two wins on the trot.
