Salford sign forward Sam Luckley from Ottawa

Salford have signed Scotland international Sam Luckley from Ottawa on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old forward, formerly of Newcastle Thunder, had been due to join Ottawa Aces for the 2021 season but, after their entry into the league structure was deferred, he will instead move into Super League with the Red Devils.

Salford coach Richard Marshall said: “Sam is determined to take this opportunity.

“Playing and training alongside our experienced players in the forwards will help him unlock more of his potential.”

Luckley added: “I can’t wait for pre-season. Doing sessions with the quality of players here at Salford will help bring the best out of me.

“I’ve had insight into that with Scotland and I’m looking forward to spending more time in that kind of environment.”
