Salford set to unveil new era

Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash will today unveil his vision for the future of the club.

A new name, the Red Devils, a new kit, new website and new signings will all be revealed at a specially arranged event at Salford City Stadium.

One new signing to be confirmed is likely to be Rangi Chase, after Castleford revealed they had agreed to sell the England international.

The club has already announced the signings of Adrian Morley, Francis Meli, Junior Sa’u and Steve Rapira, while it was announced at the weekend that Wakefield half-back Tim Smith would also be joining.

Other new faces are also expected to be unveiled, with the likes of Gareth Hock, who recently backed out of a deal to join Parramatta, one player heavily fancied to be joining Koukash’s revolution headed by coach Brian Noble.

Koukash saved the Reds from going out of business on the eve of the season, and made an early name for himself in rugby league circles with an audacious bid for Wigan star Sam Tomkins.

Despite their pre-season troubles, Salford have still managed six wins and a draw this season, and can avoid the wooden spoon by winning their final game of the season against Widnes on Friday night.
