Salford are offering season ticket holders at Bury FC and Bolton Wanderers free entry to Thursday night’s match against Warrington.

Bury were expelled from the English Football League on Tuesday and Bolton face the prospect of liquidation unless a takeover occurs in the coming days.

Salford were close to administration at the start of the 2013 season and have struggled with financial issues over the years – but they will also make the free ticket offer available for their final home game of the season against Hull KR on September 15.

Red Devils director Paul King said: “Salford Red Devils fans know better than most, how awful they must be feeling and at a time when they will be in constant worry, we wanted to offer a distraction.

“With a celebrity football match on before our game against Warrington, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to let those fans get together, as they have done so many times before.

“It’s a simple gesture of solidarity on our part.”

Bury and Bolton fans must bring their season ticket and photo ID to claim their free ticket at the AJ Bell Stadium.
