Salford insist they will issue bans to any supporter who is found guilty of anti-social behaviour at matches.

A flare was thrown onto the pitch after the Red Devils’ 20-12 victory over Leeds at Emerald Headingley on Friday night.

The culprit appears to have been identified by the club and the Red Devils have confirmed they will be taking strong actions on future anti-social behaviour.

In a statement released by the Red Devils, it read: “Salford Red Devils are disappointed that Friday evening’s historic victory at Emerald Headingley has been tarnished by the actions of one individual.

“Releasing a flare on the western terrace and jeopardising the safety of fellow supporters flies in the face of everything our community club stands for.

“This action will not be tolerated, the club will ensure those responsible are issued with the strongest sanctions available.

“We are continuing to work with our friends at Leeds Rhinos and the RFL and will issue bans to any and all found guilty of such anti-social behaviours.

“The club are proud to positively represent the people and city of Salford and will take a zero tolerance approach to any further incidents of this nature that tarnish the reputation.”
