Salford’s rearranged game with London this weekend was moved due to RFL protocol.

It was announced on Monday that The Qualifiers game between the Red Devils and the Broncos has been brought forward to accommodate a Thursday night television game involving Salford and Toulouse in the final round of The Qualifiers the week after.

Salford’s upcoming game against London has been moved forward to Saturday, 22 September, due to RFL protocol which states that teams should have a minimum five-day turnaround between matches.

Fans have blasted the decision to rearrange this weekend’s clash in The Qualifiers at five days notice.

The Red Devils have released a short statement on the matter, it read: “Tickets for the London and Toulouse games have not been on sale as dates were never confirmed and the club has stated from the outset that these two fixtures were subject to change.

“We realise this is scant consolation to fans who have booked travel or accommodation to London or who may now not be able to make the final home game of the season, but unfortunately, due to the operational rules, these games and dates of games were to be played were taken out of our hands.”
