Rochdale have signed front-rower Adam Lawton from Salford on a one-month loan deal.

The 25-year-old joins the Hornets in search of regular game time and strengthens Carl Forster’s options in the pack.

Lawton has spent time in Australia over the last couple of years, enjoying a stint with Redcliffe Dolphins.

On signing Lawton, Rochdale coach Carl Forster said: “It’s a great capture for us – it’s no secret that we have been working to strengthen our forward pack and Adam gives us size and power.

“He’s a skilful player and cut his teeth in Super League and got some good experience at Widnes.

“He will go really well for us and I’m looking forward to seeing him play.”
