Salford City Reds are closing in on six new signings for the 2014 season, according to owner Marwan Koukash.

Koukash, who will rebrand his side as Salford Red Devils next year, has promised significant investment to the team after completing his take-over of the club in January.

And while Salford currently sit bottom of the Super League table, Koukash remains confident that his team will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.

He said: “Next year, with the team we will have, it will be hell for other teams to face us. We will have a lot of fun next year.

Shortly after Koukash’s take-over, a number of high-profile players were linked with a move to the Salford City Stadium, including Wigan’s Sam Tomkins and Warrington prop Adrian Morley.

Head coach Brian Noble is also keen to strengthen Salford’s squad but is willing to give a fair chance to those currently at the club.

Noble said: “My last month has been to do that – to look at people, to give opportunities and turn things around.

“I’m quite prepared to accept anybody who is prepared to have a dig and show that they want to be here.”
