Salford chief Vickers dismisses Tasi to Saints rumours

Salford CEO Martin Vickers has poured cold water on speculation linking Red Devils forward Lama Tasi with a move to St Helens in 2016.

Rumours have spread claiming that Saints are looking at the Samoan international as a replacement for Mose Masoe, should Masoe move to the NRL.

But Vickers has insisted that such claims are far off the mark.

“It really is just sheer speculation,” Vickers told the Manchester Evening News.

“Lama is our player and we saw him back to his best against Wakefield last time out.

“We all know what a strong running forward he is.

“He recaptured the fine form he showed in his first season and there is nothing at all in the link with Saints.”

Vickers also indicated that the Red Devils had made no contact with Sam Rapira, the New Zealand Warriors forward who is reportedly considering a move to Super League next year.
