Salford accept Kevin Locke’s resignation

Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash has revealed that his club have accepted Kevin Locke‘s resignation.

The Kiwi full-back wrote a letter offering his resignation last week, with his lawyer citing unpaid wages as his main reason for wanting to leave.

At a passionate and often expletive-laden press conference on Tuesday, Koukash confirmed that Locke would be leaving, and also disputed the claim that the player was owed money.

“The club has accepted Kevin Locke‘s resignation as of today,” Koukash told reporters.

“In March, Kevin had agreed with his manager that he still owed the club a five figure sum. Since then we have collected this.”

Another player currently in legal dispute with Salford is Tony Puletua, currently plying his trade at Hull KR.

Koukash stressed that the club denies all allegations made against it in the case.

He said: “There is a dispute between ourselves and Tony Puletua and we deny all the allegations made against the club.”
