Saints win Club Call

St Helens have won the right to choose the identity of the team who stand between them and a place in the Engage Super League Grand Final in two weeks time following a thrilling opening round of play-offs.

A 28-12 victory over Warrington Wolves on Saturday night allied to a 27-26 defeat for Wigan at the hands of Leeds on Sunday secured Club Call for St Helens, who will decide who they play in the Qualifying Semi-finals at a media conference next Sunday.

Saints will select from the winners of next week’s two Elimination Semi-finals, Wigan v Hull Kingston Rovers and Warrington v Huddersfield Giants, and are not allowed to choose Leeds, who like themselves have a well-earned rest next weekend.

The Wigan v Hull KR match will be played on Friday September 17 with an 8.00 kick off while Warrington will host Huddersfield on Saturday September 18 at 6.00pm.
