Saints recall Smith for play-offs

St Helens have recalled Matty Smith from his loan spell at Salford after Leon Pryce was ruled out of the Super League play-offs through injury.

Smith, 23, has spent the 2010 season on loan at The Willows following a similar spell at Celtic Crusaders last term.

He is set to complete a permanent move to Salford at the end of this season.

A St Helens club spokesman said: “Matty has agreed to rejoin the club and he gives greater us flexibility.

“We’d like to thank Salford City Reds for assisting us in this matter and look forward to welcoming Matty back in training shortly.”
