Ryan Sutton enjoying longer minutes in the NRL

Canberra forward Ryan Sutton admitted he is enjoying longer minutes instead of being used as an impact player this year.

The 23-year-old joined the Raiders in the off-season on a two-year deal from hometown club Wigan.

Sutton has played in every game for Canberra this year, starting 10 matches and coming off the bench in three.

On his longer minutes in 2019, Sutton told NRL.com: “For me it takes me five or 10 minutes to get into the game, I’m not one of these people who can come on for 20 minute bursts and go off.

“I feel like I can pace myself well, but when I am on for those 20-minute bursts I feel like I’m rushing.

“I’ve seen how tough the competition is and how the rotations change and if I can get better at that 20-minute stint when I know I’m coming on it’s going to make me a better player.”
