Ryan Johnston signs new Barrow deal

Ryan Johnston has signed a new two-year-deal with Barrow, keeping him at the Raiders until the end of the 2020 season.

Johnston was Barrow’s first ever signing from the Furness Raiders college team, having previously plied his trade at Dalton ARLFC.

He got his opportunity in Barrow’s first-team earlier in the season and he has taken it with both hands, with him quickly becoming a fan favourite at Craven Park.

In a short statement made by the Raiders, it read: “Ryan has all the skills a quality half-back needs; pace, organisation, ability to take on the defence and a quality kicking game.

“The club see Ryan as our half-back for the next decade. This signing is another step in the right direction for the club.”
