Wakefield half-back Ryan Hampshire has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 23-year-old former joined Trinity from Leigh Centurions at the end of last season and his impressive performances this season has caught the eye of a number of clubs.

Hampshire has played in 26 games for Wakefield this season and has built up a smart combination with Jacob Miller.

On his contract extension, Hampshire said: “It’s taken a while but finally it’s been done and I’ve another year at a good club.

“If we are in this position that we are in next year then we will be in the play-offs and we will have a shot at making the Grand Final and that’s what we will be aiming for.

“It’s a one-year contract so I’m obviously backing myself again.”
