Warrington Head Coach Steve Price has confirmed that centre Ryan Atkins is set to miss the next few games with a hamstring injury.

Atkins, who will be out of contract at the end of the season after being told his contract would not be renewed, admitted last Thursday that he was in for a spell on the sidelines.

Ahead of Warrington’s Challenge Cup tie against Hull KR this Friday, Price stated that Atkins would be joining Stefan Ratchford (pectoral muscle) and Kevin Brown (achilles) on the treatment table after his setback.

Nevertheless, the Wolves boss added that he is hoping freshness will be a telling factor for his side this weekend as they bid to reach Wembley for the sixth time in 10 years.

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, he said: “Rhino’s going to be a couple of weeks. He got a hamstring strain early in the Hull FC game.

“He’ll be missing which is unfortunate, but he’ll get stuck into his rehab. Other than that, we’ve come through pretty good. There’s no injury concerns and we’re all fresh.”
