Widnes centre Charly Runciman is recovering from a finger injury and is on track for the Vikings opening Super League fixture on February 7.

Runicman joined Widnes late last year from St George Illawarra and made a fast start to life in Super League, scoring seven tries in seven appearances.

The outside back has undergone minor finger surgery in the off-season.

According to the 22-year’s old manager, Runciman is recovering well and set to be fit for the start of the 2016 campaign.

Widnes assistant coach Brett Hodgson confirmed that the centre will be right for round one.

The Vikings travel to Belle Vue to take on Wakefield next month.
