Rule joins Widnes board of directors

Widnes chief executive James Rule has joined the Board of Directors at the club and become a part-owner.

The former Hull chief joins Steve O’Connor, Roddy Snedden, Brian O’Connor and Matt Beech on the Vikings board.

Rule told the club’s official website: “My first impressions of the Vikings were very, very positive. At the end of my first year in the role, I have been delighted with the progress we have made both on and off the field of play. All of the ingredients are in place for us to continue the growth and evolution of the Club that we are all so passionate about.

“When Steve (O’Connor) proposed me taking an ownership stake, I didn’t hesitate. I believe we have huge potential and I am excited about playing a part in the realisation of that potential.”

Rule succeeded Julie Gaskell in the role at the end of 2012.
