We have got a whole range of content for you today, from match reports, to feature articles, to transfer news, to opinion pieces, to trending tries on social media.

What’s on site

As the Betfred Super League and Betfred Championship are now back, our ‘five things’ feature pieces are also back. We take at what we learned from round one.

Love Rugby League correspondents were at three games this weekend and we have got reports from Warrington v Leeds, St Helens v Castleford and Leigh v Toronto.

Huddersfield Giants have released winger Gene Ormsby.

Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell made no excuses after what he described as a shocking performance against St Helens.

We have an opinion piece on Saints shining under the early season favourites tag and Castleford’s season ahead.

What’s in the papers

Aaron Bower, of The Guardian, was at the Halton Stadium on Sunday and produced a considered match report on Widnes Vikings’ 40-12 win over Catalans Dragons, including reaction from Denis Betts and Steve McNamara.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, St Helens ace Jon Wilkin says he believes that Rugby League is failing at school.

Wilkin told The Sun: “I’ve always thought we’ve neglected the schools, who have facilities, teachers, time, equipment and a captive audience.”

Leigh Journal’s Trevor Baxter produced a match report on Leigh’s defeat to Toronto, which included reaction from Centurions head coach Neil Jukes.

What’s on social

It’s safe to say that Ryan Hall had quite the dream start to the new season against Warrington Wolves on Thursday…

The Leigh v Toronto round one clash certainly didn’t disappoint and it was intense throughout, with ten Wolfpack players having played for the Centurions in the past…

Liam Marshall was the second highest try-scorer in Super League last season – he started 2018 in good fashion, too…
