Rovers won’t take Toulouse lightly

Nick Scruton says Hull KR will treat Toulouse with plenty of respect when the two sides meet on Sunday.

The French side are without a win in their last four games and need to defeat the Championship leaders to have any chance of reaching the top four.

“We’re not reading too much into their recent form and we’re expecting a tough game,” Scruton told the club’s official website.

“It was quite a slow game against Bradford last week, but Toulouse play with some pace, they’ve got some speed in the outside backs and obviously all French sides are usually big and strong in the pack.

“It’ll be a good game, a big test for us, and probably a chance to see where we’re at going into these Eights.

“It’ll be nice to pick up a piece of silverware as well and lift that League Leaders Shield after the game.

“We’ve worked hard this season – Tim (Sheens) and the coaching staff have been brilliant in getting us ready for games and we’ve driven it ourselves as well.

“We’ve got a good group here. Danny Addy described it last week as a bunch of mates playing together and I think you can see that.

“There’s no egos, nobody causing any issues, and everybody knows the job we’ve got to do.”
